To be or not be a teacher

Why do I suffer under the torture of being a target for wadded paper, a tomato, and erasers dipped in ink? Why am I trying to teach 40 students per class about biodiversity, population dynamics, habitat fragmentation and demography? Why am I losing my voice from having to yell, plead, whisper, demand, lecture, chide, quiet, and control? Is it for the $? Is it for the glimmer of hope that there is learning, inspiration, and exploration?

DID is a word of achievement
WON'T is a word of retreat
MIGHT is a word of bereavement
CAN'T is a word of defeat
OUGHT is a word of duty
TRY is a word each hour
WILL is a word of beaty
CAN is a word of power

Hey! I finally found The Spot!

Remember, sub teachers are not sub people. Subs are human too!

Someday you'll be in a store browsing--probably Media Play--and a student will recognize you and actually be pleased to see you.
